When we were deciding 4 years ago where my showroom would go, I remember well that it all came down to windows. I had this dream of creating a space that communicated what was inspiring my designs, and a window display was the perfect avenue. Our first display is still near and dear to my heart - larger than life fabric flowers, made by hand, and dyed a soft blush hue. Then there was the whimsical paper boat, pulling a paper mache balloon “cloud” caught in a net…
We’re rounding the corner on our 20th year in business and a little celebration is in order. Whimsical design with organic elements infuse all of my designs, so I naturally look to nature for that grounding.
This year, I’ve been inspired by the seasons. Subtle changes in color everywhere. So, we gathered branches to build our own little makeshift trees. Hand formed leaves were scattered along the branches, each unique in their own right. In the spirit of helping women find their “signature piece”, a custom print made from my actual signature was wrapped along every inch, down to the very last leaf. To pull it all together, the trees are backed with stretched canvases, painted in our signature blush color with my go-to “cloud technique” (that can also be found on all our large painted surfaces around the studio and showroom).
